Top Five Green Gadgets We Wish Really Existed
From time to time we come across some ideas that are so brilliant that it’s a no-brainer for them to be out there in the marketplace. This last year in particular we’ve seen a number of green gadgets that are so ingenious that we’re left scratching our heads and wondering why they haven’t been produced yet — especially because they are all powered by renewable energy sources. With this in mind, we present to you our top five green gadgets that we wish existed.
1. Solar Powered Bluetooth Headphones
We hate untangling the cords to our headphones when we pull them out of our bag, so we love these Q-Sound headphones that are Bluetooth enabled and don’t have any wires to get tangled up in. As an added bonus, these sleek headphones are completely powered by the sun via a set of flexible hexagonal solar panels.
2. Kinetic and Flexible OLED Phone
Our current cell phones get dropped on the ground all the time, but if we had a flexible phone it wouldn’t get nearly as beat up and we could easily fit it into our pocket. Kyocera’s concept for a flexible OLED cell phone is fascinating not only because it is slim and sleek with a fabulously wide screen — it’s also powered by kinetic energy, so all it takes to charge it up is a walk around town.
3. Illuminating Window Blinds Store Sunlight
We’re convinced that solar cells will eventually be integrated into a variety of household objects (especially the surfaces of our homes), so venetian blinds that are covered in solar cells makes perfect sense. During the day these Solar Blinds are angled to capture sunlight with flexible solar cells, while at night the stored energy is transferred to a layer of electroluminescent foil that provides energy-efficient light.
4. Solar Powered Bracelet Phone
For those that tend to loose their phones, this wearable bracelet phone might just do the trick. It’s a relatively simple cell phone with calling, texting and address book features, except it is flexible and solar powered — it reminds us a bit of those slap bracelets from when we were kids.
5. Solar Power Generating Sunglasses
We all wear sunglasses to shade our eyes from the sun, so why not put them to good use soaking up those rays to generate power? These solar sunglasses feature dye solar cells that are integrated into their lenses, which can collect and convert enough energy to power your handheld gadgets, like phones and ipods. A little wire on the back of the frames connects to your devices and charges them on the go.

창조적인 생각이 없다면 살아남기 어려운 지금의 시대에 IT 기업들은 창조적인 생각에 재생에너지를 결합해 누구도 상상하지 못했던 새로운 제품들을 속속 내놓고 있다. 하지만 아직까진 실험적인 단계이고 사람들의 흥미를 끌진 못하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 현대인들이 꿈꾸는 IT 제품을 5개만 꼽아 보았다.

3. 태양력 저장이 가능한 블라인드
고층건물이 성냥갑처럼 붙어있는 현대 사회에서 블라인드는 집을 꾸미는데 필수 아이템이 되고있다. 이러한 블라인드가 태양력을 이용해서 자체적으로 빛을 낸다면 어떻게 될까? 월마다 고지서를 보면서 함박웃음을 짓는 사람이 늘어날 것이다. 낮동안 블라인드에 부착된 집열장치를 통해 태양광을 저장했다가 밤에 자체적으로 빛을 내는 고풍적인 베네치안 블라인드는 미래에 가정필수품의 하나로 자리잡게 될 것이다.
4. 태양광을 이용한 팔찌 핸드폰
얼마 전에 나온 LG전자의 프라다 폰2는 세련된 디자인 뿐만 아니라 손목에 장착할 수 있는 손목시계 형태의 휴대폰을 제공함으로써 선풍적인 인기를 끌었다. 하지만 그 비싼 가격에 누구나 장비할 수는 없는 하늘의 떡 같은 존재였기에 더욱 사람들의 선망을 받았다. 만약에 태양광으로 자체 충전이 가능하고 구부러지는 팔찌 형태의 핸드폰이 있다면 어떨까? 세련된 스타일을 만드는데 도움이 될 뿐만 아니라 앞으로 핸드폰 잃어버릴까봐 노심초사하게 될 일도 없을 것이다.
5. 태양 집열 선글라스
해가 갈수록 태양빛이 강해지는 시대에 선글라스는 현대인의 필수품으로 자리잡아가고 있다. 이러한 선글라스에 태양집열 장치를 부착해 휴대용 전자기기의 충전용으로도 쓸 수 있다면 당장에 센스쟁이란 소리를 듣게 될 것이다. 렌즈 쪽에 태양 집열 장치를 부착하고 안경테 끝부분에 연장코드를 장착해 선글라스를 끼고 다니면서 휴대용 기기를 충전할 수 있다면 앞으로 가방이 한결 가벼워져 어깨가 으쓱 올라가게 될지도 모를 일이다.
